Delete your account

You can delete your FlatHunt account yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone. If the app is no longer on your phone, there is an email route below that does the same thing.
In the app
Open Profile → Delete account and confirm. We ask why you are leaving on the way out; answering is optional, and the answer is stored without anything that identifies you. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no grace period and no way for us to bring the account back.
By email, if you no longer have the app
Write to support@flathunt.in from the email address on the account, with “delete my account” in the subject. That address is the only thing we use to identify you, which is why the request has to come from it — we will not delete an account on the word of somebody who cannot prove they own it. We complete the deletion within 30 days and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, photo, age, bio, gender, work details and verification status.
- Your listings and every photo and video on them.
- Your shortlists, saved searches and alert settings.
- Your flatmate-pairing posts.
- Your push tokens, so the phone stops receiving anything from us.
- Your sign-in identity, including the Google or LinkedIn connection if you used one.
What is not, and why
- Messages you sent. They stay visible to the person you sent them to, in the same way a text message does. Your name is replaced with a deleted-account label.
- Reports of abuse. A report made about you, or by you, is kept so that deleting an account cannot be used to erase a safety record. These are not used for anything else.
- Payment records. Subscriptions are bought through Google Play or the App Store and the receipt lives with them, not with us — Indian tax law requires those records to be retained regardless of what happens to the account.
Anything retained above is kept only for as long as the reason for keeping it lasts, and then removed.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting the account does not cancel a FlatHunt Plus subscription — only the store can do that. Cancel it in Google Play or in your Apple account before you delete, or you will keep being billed for an account that no longer exists. See Refunds & cancellations.
